Strength

As the date of the operation gets closer I wouldn’t say I am getting more nervous but I am becoming more aware my life may change. Last week I had my pre-op MRI and this week I have pre-op assessment and signing the consensus. The change should be a positive one but it is hard not to also be thinking what if it doesn’t go as planned. I am trying to put a few things in place should there be an undesirable outcome.

I’m very lucky I have so many people who are concerned for my welfare and are giving me the strength to carry on. From far and wide, so much love, hugs, prayers and kind regards. It all really helps. I do not believe I could do it without all you do for me. I do want to give a special thanks to a new friend. She has given me strength in a unique way. I wish I could find the words to explain. She has loaned me something to hold onto. I do not believe it is the item, but it is what it represents. Knowing someone, a relative stranger, is facing a challenge and is showing them kindness. Thank you.

I think tomorrow is going to be a challenge because it is all about making sure the risks are mitigated as far as possible and me signing to say I accept them. Inherently this makes me think of what the risks are or could be. I should talk about them but I am not sure I would want to know the responses, if that makes sense. I was going to the appointment with someone but I have decided I am going alone. I think without another person I will be able to focus more on what I need to do and not dwell on what is going on. Not sure that makes sense either but it is what I’m going to do.

Anyway, cook, eat and sleep. Tomorrow is an early start. it’s like being back at work 🙂
